Daniel has been accepted as a member of the tenth cohort of Lilly Graduate Fellows. The Lilly Fellows Program in Humanities and the Arts "seeks to strengthen the quality and shape the character of church-related institutions of higher learning in the twenty-first century." As a member of an interdisciplinary cohort consisting of Ph.D and doctoral students from schools including USC, Yale, and Fordham University, Daniel will participate in annual conferences and monthly online colloquiums discussing questions in art, music, literature, philosophy and religion and how they relate to teaching and higher education. The fellowship also includes an annual scholarship and mentoring from faculty members in the Lilly Fellows Program network of colleges and universities. Westmont College (Santa Barbara, CA) where Daniel attended as an undergraduate, is a member of this network and nominated Daniel for acceptance into this cohort.
