Dr. Grey Brothers premiered Daniel’s work for SATB Choir and Piano, Cuán Bueno, written for the Westmont Chamber Singers and Choral Union. The work was written for Brothers in honor of his retirement from teaching at Westmont for 27 years.
Metaxu, for piano and speaker, was premiered by Neil Di Maggio and Randy VanderMey at the Spring 2022 Faculty Westmont Faculty Recital, written in honor of Mark Sargent upon his retirement as Provost of Westmont College.
Along with Drs. Michael Shasberger and Grey Brothers, Daniel Gee led the Westmont choirs and orchestra in a historic first performance at the Granada Theatre, Santa Barbara’s premiere performing arts venue. This seventeenth annual Christmas Festival included a world premiere commissioned by the Westmont Orchestra, Divinum Mysterium, in honor of Michael Shasberger’s retirement as Adams Chair of Music and Worship at Westmont College.
Alicia Cordoba Tait, Oboe, and Robert Schultz, Marimba, premiered a commissioned work at the Lilly Fellows Program National Conference at Boston College. The work was among three commissioned compositions in honor of Mark Schwehn, founding director of the Lilly Fellows Program.
The Westmont Orchestra and College Choir, led by Dr. Michael Shasberger, will premier Daniel's commissioned arrangement, "Of The Father's Love Begotten," in four concerts the weekend of December 1-3 in their 13th annual Christmas Festival.
The Westridge School Chamber Orchestra, led by Leo Kitajima, will premier Daniel's commissioned work for the orchestra, Open Roads along with other works at their Spring Concert. Concert will take place on Friday, March 17, 7pm at Westridge School's performing arts center.
Daniel directs He Emptied Himself, a musical, dramatic, and theological meditation on the emptying of Christ's incarnation with the musicians, artists, dancers, and pastoral staff of Evergreen SGV. Works include Victoria's "O Magnum Misterium," and a premier of Daniel's "Agnus Dei." Admission is free and open to the public.
Daniel served as instructor of theory and ear training at Westmont's second annual Academy for Young Artists (WAYA).
The Santa Barbara Quire of Voyces' Spring Concert will feature a program of Renaissance and contemporary a capella works, including a premier of Daniel's commissioned O Lord, Thou Hast Made Us For Thyself.
Isaac Kay, graduating senior in Violin performance will be premiering the first movement of Daniel's Monastic Portraits for Violin and Piano on Saturday April 9, 2016 at 8pm at Westmont College, Deane Chapel.

Dr. Steve Hodson performs Daniel's organ prelude Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence at the AGO Santa Barbara Annual Members Recital.
Organist and Composer Emma Lou Diemer premiers Advent organ prelude, Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence on Trinity Episcopal, Santa Barbara's Advent Organ Series. Recital will also feature other Santa Barbara composers including David Gell, Mahlon Balderston, and Emma Lou Diemer.
